Version 3.1 and Post Formats

I’m testing the Gallery Format, which is supported by Twenty Ten and with 3.1 beta.

I guess I’ll need a Gallery.

Marissa Miller seems like a good choice. Now let’s see what it looks like

I have a feeling. . .

. . . that the release of 3.0 is right around the corner. I just took a look at trac and see that there are 0 active tickets. There are quite a few nice features in 3.0 and lot of things that you really are going to like but never notice.

I expect an announcement at any time.

While you wait:

3.0 Now in Beta 1

The long awaited WordPress 3.0 is now in Beta-1 and ready for testing. Of course I’ve been testing the alpha versions here for quite a while. I am just now getting around to diving in to some of the great new features.

  • There is a brand new theme — Twenty Ten — that you are seeing here on this site.
  • You can create custom menus. That’s one there, just under the header. What makes it unique? Well, if you look closely that menu has a url entry pointing to the main blog, a link to a page, and a link to a category with a sub category!
  • One thing that I think will excite a lot of people is the ability to create custom post types. You can read more about that here.

I guess I’ll get back to testing now.

Sandra Bullock

Moving Closer to 3.0

I haven’t posted anything lately, even though I’ve been keeping up with the latest nightly builds. There are quite a few things that are changing on the back end, things your readers will never see. In fact many of the changes won’t even be that obvious to casual WordPress users.

Anyhow, I thought I would post this to see if anything had changed on the post end of things. Let’s see, who should I use for the post beauty? How about award winning actress (and personal favorite) Sandra Bullock.

Catherine Bell

This Morning’s Test

This morning’s test post features Ms. Catherine Bell. I have a post thumbnail and a gallery. And I edited on pic for the thumbnail. This is a critical test. Ah, who am I kidding? It’s just an excuse to use these pics.

The thumbnail is the pic to the left. Below is a gallery.
