So, I wrote to the WordPress Forums about not being able to see the image editor when I had multiple photos. Turns out that will be the case in 3.5. It’s going to take a plugin, or waiting to 3.6 or later to see it integrated. But, there is a work around that’s not too bad.
Just to demonstrate – You upload a gallery without editing and sometimes the thumbnails are not what you would want:
See how the centering isn’t quite right? Now, I’ll upload the same three pictures again (I have to re-upload them so I don’t change the originals.
Then I go to the Media Library, and edit the thumbnails there. It’s a little more work, but it does work.
One of the features of 3.5 is a new media suite including drag and drop functionality and other enhancements. A few things are still not working, like the ability to edit photos and thumbnails, or assign a featured image. That was a few days ago, let’s see about now.
Nope, still not working.
We are getting close to the release of WordPress 3.5 so it’s time for a new post with some new content.
WordPress 3.3 has been released, and this site is now running 3.4 alpha. New post to keep things sort of fresh.
I’m also testing a new theme.
WordPress 3.2 is now in beta 1, a lot quicker than version 3.1. Along with DFW (Distraction Free Writing), they have also introduced a new theme – Twenty Eleven. You’re looking at it now.
This is a test for the Calendar plugin I’m testing. Let’s see if this adds as an event.
One of the features that will be coming along with WordPress 3.2 is something they call “Distraction Free Writing”. Now, my first thought was, how can WordPress make the kids be quiet, the phone stop ringing, and the dogs not want to be walked? I found out that’s not what they meant.
Distraction Free Writing is the ability to write your posts in a full screen mode where all the buttons and boxes are invisible. Here is a screen shot taken as I write this post:
If you need to get the buttons back you just move the cursor somewhere else on the screen. Like so:
Nice, isn’t it? Now if they would go walk the dog for me. Be back later.
